This exhibition brings five artists all who utilize paper as a core medium in their practice. Each artist comes to this exhibition with expertise in their artistic practice and we are delighted to showcase their work. Paper as a medium connotes certain limitations in the artistic realm; the fragility, impermanence, and yet its resilience through the ages is remarkable. We visited the Georgia Tech Paper Museum earlier this year and were overwhelmed with the technical aspect and the creativity that expounds from the history of paper making. This by no means is an exhibit that explores all realms of paper in its artistic capacity, but these Atlanta artists use paper in expressive ways all the while exploring intimate moments and universal experiences. It is also important to know that two of the artists were part of the horrific tragedy at South River Studios where their work was exhibited and the space had no insurance, thus all their work was lost to the fire. They truly represent phoenixes rising.

This exhibition showcased 52 artists co-curated by Ramie Little, an art advocate and past President of Art Papers magazine and Pollinator Founder Sabre Esler. The exhibit highlighted the variety and depth of the Atlanta Artist Community. All works were 12 x 12 inches or smaller allowing the artists to stretch their creative capacity in thinking beyond their regular practice with small sizes and experimental concepts. Mediums accepted ranged from fine art drawing, painting, printmaking and photography to ceramics and small sculptures. This was the second annual Honeycomb show, the first being in late 2024.
