Curated by Sabre Esler, CONVERSATIONS IN WOOD: A DIALOGUE invites viewers to
engage with the artist’s ideas of landscape, gesture, and the fragility of the human experience.
Their chosen material is primarily wood based. While the substance is the constant, the way in
which each artist hones and manipulates the medium is uniquely their own. The sculptures will
converse with each other in this exploration of practice, components, craftsmanship and
interpretation of idea into form. This intriguing exhibit will further examine how far an artist can
push themselves within a sculptural practice making work diverse in concepts yet similar in
fundamentals.
